THE "DE ORNATU" OF TROTULA
Trotula 's De ornatu is a medical text written in Latin that was composed in the 12th century by the famous physician Trotula de Ruggiero . She was one of the first women to practice medicine in medieval Europe at the Medical School of Salerno , an excellence who distinguished herself in teaching, research and care.
The text describes the techniques and remedies for the care of female beauty in a cosmetic way thanks to the meticulous study of natural methods and medicinal plants.
